Tele Vue Gibraltar Mount with Walnut Tripod Legs & Tele Pod Head.

Tele Vue Gibraltar Mount with Walnut Tripod Legs & Tele Pod Head. Review

Tele Vue Gibraltar Mount with Walnut Tripod Legs & Tele Pod Head. Feature

Tele Vue Gibraltar Mount with Walnut Tripod Legs & Tele Pod Head. Overview

Supporting your telescope isn't enough, cradle it! Within a Tele Vue yoke and cradle head, your telescope balances at its center of gravity, seemingly "weightless" as you move about the sky. Bearing surfaces of brass, anodized aluminum, and teflon provide the smooth feel needed for accurate movements. For the Tele-Pod and Panoramic mounts, a foam covered handle (not shown) attached to the cradle provides ideal leverage. Our Alt/Az tripods complement the travel-friendly, easy setup nature of Tele Vue scopes. Alt/Az motions are far less cumbersome for visual observing compared to equatorial mounts, and the eyepiece position always remains conveniently upright. There are no counterweights or awkward parts to manage. And, with Sky Tour, electronic setting circles can be added to these mounts. The mount heads are predrilled for easy installation of our Sky Tour Encoder Kits. Or, order your Gibraltar and Panoramic Mounts with the Sky Tour computer already installed. Sky Tour is easy to learn and features a listing of objects for planning your evening's sky tour! All the yoke and cradle heads along with all the wood tripods are made in America. The rock-solid Gibraltar mount is best matched with our longer, heavier 4" scopes. The larger bearing surfaces and thicker wood legs best handle the loads, especially for high power viewing. The Gibraltar tripods are American made in a choice of solid ash or walnut wood for beauty and quick vibration dampening. Le

Tele Vue Digital Camera Adapter 37mm for the 35/27mm Panoptics & 32/40mm Plossl Eyepieces. Overview

Tele Vue digital camera adapters allow solid, accurate attachment of digital cameras to appropriate Tele Vue eyepieces for "afocal" imaging. "Afocal" means collimated light between the telescope eyepiece and camera lens. To minimize vignetting and maximize image quality, we suggest using the following Tele Vue eyepieces, as their long eye relief best matches the internal pupil of the camera lens; 40mm, 32mm Plossls, 35mm, 27mm Panoptics, 22mm, 17mm, and 12mm Nagler type 4, 31mm Nagler type 5 and all Radian focal lengths. Radian eyepieces require the adapter included with DRA-XXXX models. Overall, we found the 35mm Panoptic achieves the least vignetting in afocal applications. One more thing to note is that because camera pupils move with zooming, you may find minimum vignetting at the extremes of zoom positions. Results will vary depending on the camera used. Not shown in above photo, all adapters include 3 small thumb screws for easy use without tools.

Creative Shoebox Diorama Ideas for the school year

Image : http://www.flickr.com

Shoebox Dioramas are a part of every school year and in almost every class they serve as a wonderful learning tool. They serve the decorative arts, to learn things and they are used to also learn about subjects. This article shows you some creative ideas from both the arts and crafts aspect and the learning experience.

The Arts and Crafts of Shoebox Dioramas

There are a lot of common ways to make a shoebox diorama and they include bands,Glue, construction paper and all the regular assortment of arts and crafts stuff but there are a few things that you do to can make a diorama just a little more special. Here is a list of ideas:

If you are an underwater scene here, you can cover the front of the box with Saran Wrap or thin plastic. This gives the diorama an underwater feel
Use string to the full three dimensions in a box, and suspend objects from strings or ribbons from side to side and top to bottom andlodge appeal against the strings. This works well for flying objects like bird, pterodactyls or even clouds and stars.
Slots in the back and top of the box and use these to items you can scroll through the diorama. Make a bird, boat, comet or some other type of moving object then add a tab to the back. Insert this tab in the slot, then you can grab the tab from the back and push the object through the diorama. This adds a nice little interactive element. ThisWorks well with all sorts of things from a rising sun, flying bird, volcano or just about anything else that would move.
Think outside the shoebox! There is no need to run and buy a new pair of shoes if you do not have a shoe box. A more than adequate box can be made of scraps of cardboard or even be made a few cereal boxes cut and taped together. And there is no need to make a typical shoebox shape. Be creative in the shape you make. It adds a dimension of interest to theProject. Around half are Amphitheatre usual forms of dioramas use and look great.
Achieving Depth - The most common characteristic of an average shoebox diorama is that it has placed a decorated background and objects on the ground surface. You can an attractive combination of a strip of decorative paper which is about two centimeters wide with a foliage pattern then attach this to the inside bottom of the diorama about an inch from the back wall - it reaches all the way from the left sideon the right. This creates a lot of depth and makes it more interesting.
With alternative materials - you do not have to use cardboard or boxes. As an example, if you do, a polar bear or penguin diorama you could use white packing Styrofoam. If you encounter a desert scene, you can stick to the bottom of the diorama are sprinkle real sand on it.

Theme Ideas and Learning Tools

The biggest point of a shoebox diorama is to showa natural habitat of something. In the process of drawing and cutting out the various objects a child is learning about the habitat. This is great, but you can take it to a new level with a little thought and a little creativity.

Freezing a moment in time - A diorama is a moment in time, and you can focus on this. Some good examples, you can have a meteor Diorama stripes across the sky of a dinosaur, and this explains the theory of extinction. Or you can show a large predatorto eat fish on a smaller fish, as it is something to eat even smaller. This dramatic moment in time is a good representation of the food chain.
Interactions in a habitat - The focus of a diorama is too often correctly identify and place the right objects for a natural habitat, but you can restore them to a new level by the interactions within the habitat. The upper layer of the canopy in a rain forest blocks sunlight from the lower layers and this is an important aspect of the rainforest. ACoral reef provides shelter for many creatures in the sea and a diorama can display this screen.
Add a Fact Sheet - This is a great tool that should be added to every diorama. You should have a leaflet, the poster board can be glued and stood near the diorama. The sheet explains the basic facts, what is the diorama.

Diorama Ideas

Here are some ideas that are that you can use as a theme for your diorama:

The natural habitat of almost every creature like fish, polarBears, black bears, penguins, wolves, humans, dinosaurs, camels, lions, tigers, monkeys, elephants, dolphins, and well you get the idea!
A Desert theme makes complete with pyramids, mummies and camels fun
A rain forest is a good diorama for teaching about diversity and the interaction of species
An astronomy diorama with sun, planets, comets, complete, and the stars in the background
A medieval Castle scene complete with catapult or dragon
Underwater scenes are always popular
ArcticThemed dioramas are fun because of creative options for snow and icebergs

Whatever you choose to make diorama, you should take a little time to make it different and unique and there is to do a lot of creative possibilities. Have fun with your project!
